Being a flapper isn't always easy, there are many people against us. I heard that laws are even being passed that will fine women for having hemlines more than three inches above the ankle. There are even tickets being issued to women for bobbing their hair. It's crazy how women cannot even have enough freedom to choose what they want to wear. I'm not going to let those flapper haters stop me from wearing what I want, it's who I am and women deserve the power to be more than a housewife. This is what I do to people against flappers.

I have a headache from last night and I desperately need some cigarettes. I just smoked the last of them so I'm about to go buy more. It was worth the picture though, don't you think? I heard people at the newspaper business (where I work) saying that I have a reputation for sleeping around and coming late to work smelling like whiskey, but I always get my work done so who cares. I like having the power to do make my own choices. That's what being a flapper is all about anyway, right?

Just got a haircut, it's the typical flapper bob and I'm loving it! Most of my friends are housewives and disapprove but I like being able to have control over the way I look. I'm really enjoying this new dark, bobbed look and I don't care if people think it's "inappropriate". People say I have a brash attitude, I don't care, deal with it.

 

What a night! Just got back form a long night of dancing at one the jazz lounges here in New York City. I absolutely love to dance but I feel like I drank a bit too much. I don't care what people think, I'm having fun. Who cares if I show off my knees.

I'm what they call a flapper. Yes I wear makeup, I dress in "untraditional' clothing because I should be able to dress in whatever way I choose. I'd choose a loose fitting dress over a something tight with a corset any day. This is my favorite new dress.
